Fall

We are into November and we in the FULL swing of school and sports and all things fall. This is our busiest season yet with the kids BOTH being in school and BOTH being in multiple sports.

Jaris is playing seven on seven football with the Chiefs. We absolutely love our team. We've become a close group of friends beyond the field we are so thankful for them. He has practice twice a week for that and games on Saturdays. We ended the season short but we are playing a mixture of 5th/6th grade so it was a tougher season. JT was selected for the All Star game and he is pumped. We also finished our double header baseball league. He had a great season and we are looking forward to a full spring season!

We are just passed the first 9 weeks of school and we've had parent teacher conferences. He is testing ABOVE his reading requirements and that is a first for us! We are so thankful for this moment. A year of eye therapy, a 509 plan in place, some maturing, and a lot of hard work by JT and we are so excited for this result. HE was so excited to hear it and that was the most rewarding part as a parent. His teacher had nothing but good things to say about him. Everyone wants to be his friend, he is polite, and works hard.

Recently Jaris had his 5th grade overnight field trip to Sky Ranch. I wanted to go as a chaperone. I would be in a girls cabin as a chaperone but would get to be with JT during the day. It was 3 days and 2 nights. I was in a cabin with 16 5th grade girls. I had such a great little group, they were so cute and polite which made my job pretty easy! During the days the kids had learning classes mixed with rec time and activities. It was great to see JT with his friends but it was even better to be watching how independent and mature he is becoming. I tried to be present at a distance. I wanted him to have fun and be himself without his mom hanging around too close. We had a great time and I'm so glad I got to go!

Landry started soccer again and is loving it. We have a lot of new girls on our team so it's been a learning season but she is aggressive and is doing great! This year she also started cheer! Here they cheer for their grades flag football teams. Landry is on the Wolfpack team and cheers every Saturday before her soccer games. It has been...interesting to watch Landry cheer to say the least. She loves practice but games are at 8:30 am and she's just not quite cheerful enough at that time of day. It's quite hysterical for everyone watching her stand there and yawn while hardly yelling or doing the motions. About halfway through the game she brightens up (usually with the help of a snow cone bribe).

We also had her first parent teacher conferences and she is also doing great! She is picking up things quickly which is great considering how far behind she was, totally my fault (covid preschooler). She LOVES school and her teacher. It's amazing watching her and seeing how much more grown up her conversations are especially about the things she does at school. She's made friends and is just loving life.

Scout left for training in July and we got him back in September. He was doing some gun dog training. He is seriously such a good dog. Everyone always said Maisy was so sweet and it's crazy how similar Scout is. He is incredibly sweet and is so pleasing. He is convinced he is a literal lap dog, he wants to be by us constantly and is so well behaved. We already leave him out of his kennel when we leave the house. So far so good.

We are trying to enjoy and soak up every moment of this stage of life we are in. I know we'll blink and it will be over!
