He's 8!

What a year he has had! This last year brought a lot of changes for JT and watching him learn and grow through those challenges has been a true joy. Before we moved we did our best to cram in as much family and friends time as we possibly could. Strawberry picking, A LOT of time on the boat, time with our new niece, lots of pool time, sporting events, and a trip to the beach, etc. He got to finish out baseball season with his best friends and one amazing team of kids and coaches.

We've watched him say goodbye to the only home, town, and life he's ever known. We've watched him embrace the change, make new friends, start new sports teams, become a leader, and so much more. He is and has always been a tender hearted (aka sensitive) kid but at the same time he's so physically tough. He is still a mama's boy and always wants to be close to me but he LOVES spending time with Brett and doing the "manly" things. They love to do anything sports related...shooting hoops, throwing and hitting the baseball, fishing, shooting his bow and arrow, and on and on.

Basketball season was rough this year...especially coming from our team in Kansas. However it really pushed JT out of his comfort zone and he really stepped up and became a leader for his team. He had a few games that were frustrating because he's not used to losing but as a parent it was good for him to lose a little and understand how to take the lesson and move forward.

Baseball season is going great. We are playing with the Missions Christian based team. We have a great little group of boys and coaches. So far so good there!

He has been doing great at his new school, which is A LOT bigger than his last school. He's received a Ranch Hand Award after the first month of school and his grades have been awesome! Next year he'll start another new school. Our neighborhood plus 2 others are getting a new school a little closer to us. So he'll still know all his classmates, not a huge adjustment.

Of course we still (and always will) have our daily challenges...back talk...being mean to Landry...not being respectful...ya know, the fun stuff. But we've been really proud of how he has taken on all the changes he faced this year.

JT - We love you to the moon and back.
